Today is a Bad Day?

If you’ve seen any of my tweets, you’ll likely see that I’ve been complaining about it being a bad day. Let me explain my day.

1. I didn’t sleep last night. I couldn’t shut off my mind, so it was racing. I had a job interview this AM, so that probably played a part in it too.

2. My interview suit, I left at the cleaners. Wouldn’t have time to get it. So I put on other nice clothes. No tie, but very snazzy.

3. My nice leather booklet, my roommate has and hasn’t returned. Decided to bring a notepad. (What am I, a journalist?)

4. So, last minute my ride to the interview backs out. Sucks, but I still have time to get the bus.

5. I get to the bus stop and wait, and wait, and wait. No busses? Cop stops to let me know no busses are running for a little while. DAMN! Okay fine, I’ll walk to the Subway station.

6. As I’m walking, some ASSHOLE Greek fuck drives his car top speed through a puddle. Covering me in melted snow, slush, mud and salt. And I really mean covered. I was dripping. Time to go home.

7. Get to my place… damnit. I’m locked out. I forgot my keys! So I walk to my grandparents to get my spare set.

8. I get in, email to reschedule my interview and have a cup of Hot Chocolate to warm up. Gonna have a little snack too (it’s noon at this point I haven’t eaten.) So I throw on some frozen chicken meatballs.

9. Yum they are delicious. Well.. they were, until an hour ago where they decided they weren’t going to stay. Hurray! My stomach now is pretty sketchy. Someone please bring me Gingerale?

But.. as I tweeted ‘Worst. Day. Ever.’ I realized, no it’s not. Today is a great day that people would love to have. I’m not dying (hopefully!)… I’ll recover and be fine in a day or so. Yeah, today isn’t ideal… but it’s not the worst.

All around the world, kids, teens, adults have days much worse – http://LaylaGrace.org is one I look at (be warned, you will cry if you read it). So, while short term this day sucks, I’m glad to have it.

One time a friend came to me nearly in tears, really stressed out.
I asked “What’s wrong?”
He said “I have a problem.”
I said “Are you dying or is someone trying to kill you?”
He said “No.”
I said “Then you have nothing to worry about. You’ll be fine.”
And he was.
