I know recruiters will look at this and gasp in disgust. It’s not a word document! You can’t scan it for keywords! OH NO!
But that means I know I’m doing something right. I don’t want to be a nobody. I don’t want to have my resume picked up as a result of hitting keywords. I want to be in a company that actually looks at my resume.
I also want to be in a company that appreciates, encourages and contributes to my creativity. So while I’m trying to be a match for them, I also want that company to be a match for me.
It’s like dating!
If both sides aren’t attracted to the other, then it’s not going to work out!
So here’s my approach to applying for a job.
