Ontario’s Sexiest Election Candidate

voting_is_sexy_poster

After nearly a month of open voted matches between some of Ontario’s Election Candidates, the people have decided. Over 150,000 votes were cast by 30,000 unique visitors, and of those over 23% clicked to learn more about the candidates through the links to their websites, Twitter accounts and Facebook pages.

The final round was incredibly close as 3 Candidates on both sides jockeyed for top spot throughout the 4 days of voting. So close, that less than 100 votes separ In a tight race on both sides, less than 100 votes seperated the three of them after all was said and done and each vote was verified.

**Your vote on tomorrow affects you, your family, your friends, your city, province, country and ultimately, your vote helps shape our world. The world is a very volatile place right now, so now more than ever, casting your vote for who you think is the best choice for our future is important. Tomorrow, please get out and vote.**

Now, onto the results… Having reviewed all 6500 votes from the final round, three times for accuraccy (yes my eyes are a blur now)… The winners of Ontario’s Sexiest Election Candidate are:

Lori Holloway – Liberal – Dufferin-Caledon

Lori Holloway is a dynamic and passionate leader, who has spent her career working on the front-lines in community-based healthcare. Lori is the Chief Operating Officer of the Ontario Community Support Association (OCSA) – the organization that represents the 25,000 healthcare professionals and 100,000 volunteers in the more than 400 community-based healthcare agencies across Ontario, such as the Canadian Red Cross, March of Dimes, Meals on Wheels, Victorian Order of Nurses and many more.A powerful communicator and skilled negotiator, Lori has an impressive track record of building relationships and finding compassionate solutions across the political spectrum.

As the Director of the Personal Support Network of Ontario (PSNO), an organization she founded five years ago, Lori established the first accreditation program for personal support worker training and licensing while growing PSNO, the only province-wide network of personal support workers in Ontario, to more than 3,600 members strong – raising the profile and helping to improve standards for both the sector’s workers and the people they serve.

You can find out more about Lori on her Website, Follow her on Twitter and Like her on Facebook!

Nik Spohr – Halton – NDP

Nik Spohr draws on the best possible experience for understanding Halton’s needs: living them. As a first-generation Canadian, born to a family that once had next to nothing but now thrives, Nik knows the importance of the security and opportunities our public services provide. Our hospital was already undersized even before our population soared. Our schools are becoming crowded. Our household budgets are buckling under the assault of the HST. We can do better.

Nik holds an MA in Political Studies and is working on his Masters in Environmental Studies.Born in Milton, attending school, working in town, and a frequent traveller through the province, Nik knows what Halton can offer Ontario, and what it deserves. And the first thing it deserves is strong representation. You work hard, but the status quo isn’t working for you. Nik Spohr and the NDP will.

Dude, are you kidding?  Lori Holloway is sizzling.  This picture is from her Facbook page, taken last week.  Yowsa.

  • Jon H

Why the sudden change of photo for Nik Spohr?

  • http://ZachBussey.com/ Zach

    Per his request.

  • Cards42

    Woot! Go Stephanie-Lynn Russell!

  • Cards42

Are we getting ready to close the polls of this contest?

  • Phil

If Stephanie Lynn wins, this will hardly seem like a real contest. I hope this is scrutiny over the votes before you decide the winner.

that was for Erin Ashley Gorman  so paul & lori  thank her because i dont know what the hell this is but will git some friends to vote the same right now

  • hashmob

    Thanks, Erin should have won….

  • John

There are a lot of legitimate voters who feel Stephanie should win, just as I am sure there are many who feel each candidate should win. Everyone needs to stop putting down candidates based on age, or political party. Get over yourselves. You are making this fun contest as rediculous as the real election.

I cannot believe that Gurleen Gill isn’t on here. She’s a stunner. Also, Steff Duncan and Yuriy Shevyryov are some good lookin’ folks.

  • John

Wow I am surprised how different the vote counts are from what we saw this morning. Really, that many duplicates? I couldn’t get a duplicate vote no matter what I tried lol…  I was rooting for Stephanie-Lynn, so I hope you checked your counts well this time (last time you almost cheated her). Anyways, thanks for doing this Zach. A great way to lighten the election.

  • http://ZachBussey.com/ Zach

This time I was like Santa Clause. Checked the list 3 times to be sure and each vote count was accurate. About 5% of votes were duplicates more than the allowed 4.

Glad you enjoyed and thank you for participating! Hopefully all the candidates got a little more exposure and perform well on their platforms tomorrow!

Tomorrows the real vote and I’m excited for it!

  • Dirk

You are right about Gurleen Gill.  Wow.

  • http://ZachBussey.com/ Zach

Agreed. Don’t believe she was a candidate at the time of selecting though. We wouldn’t have missed her.

  • Jay R

  • Raymond

Looks like focusing on getting ppl to vote for you b/c your sexy doesn’t pan out in actually getting elected.  Maybe these folks should have focused more on the politics and less about their looks by desperately canvassing everyone they know to weigh in.  Better off that those with an actual interest and intelligence for politcs got a seat.

  • http://ZachBussey.com/ Zach

Raymond, if you think that any of the candidates spent more time on this than their campaigns, you’re insane haha. The candidates handled their campaigns and might have posted a tweet or a Facebook message at some ungodly morning hour. They ran their campaigns, I ran this one and it may have brought them additional media attention, but don’t confuse that with them spending time on this.

  • Dirk

     Raymond, you’re an idiot.
